Product Information

What makes perennial peanut hay different from regular hay?

Perennial peanut is a legume forage. Our 2026 tested samples averaged 18.83% (dry matter, n=5) crude protein. Sugar levels and other nutrients vary by sample; use the relevant lab report and a nutritionist's advice for animals with metabolic concerns.

How much protein does your perennial peanut hay contain?

Our five distinct 2026 lab analyses averaged 18.83% (dry matter, n=5), with a dry-matter range of 17.60-20.17%. This is a historical sample average, not a guarantee for every bale. View results by cutting and laboratory.

Is perennial peanut hay safe for horses with laminitis or insulin resistance?

Perennial peanut hay may be used in some lower non-structural carbohydrate feeding approaches. Dietary decisions for horses with laminitis or insulin resistance should be made with your veterinarian or equine nutrition professional.

How should I store perennial peanut hay?

Store hay in a dry, well-ventilated area protected from rain and moisture. Proper ventilation prevents mold and maintains quality. We recommend keeping bales off the ground on pallets or in a barn with good airflow.
